Shannon Byrne is a Registered Psychotherapist providing services in Mississauga under the supervision of a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Shannon earned her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Western University and has experience providing individual psychotherapy, intensive behavioural therapy, and crisis counselling to children, adolescents, and adults of all ages.
Shannon works in Mississauga, ON to support clients dealing with issues such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship concerns, and trauma, as well as diagnosed conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and major depressive disorder. Shannon’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and is informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and client-centered therapy. She utilizes evidence-based approaches, such as exposure and response prevention (ERP), when clinically indicated. Her aim is to create a warm and collaborative space in which clients can feel open to explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and experiences, and to challenge themselves to make positive and healthy changes in their lives.
