Melissa’s mission is to provide unconditional positive regard through a client centered approach to all individuals and to help navigate life’s challenges. Whether it’s through challenging negative self-talk, anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, grief and loss, developing greater self-awareness or moving through unhealthy relationships.
As a person-centered therapist I believe that no two people are exactly alike, and craft appropriate approaches to treatment and draw from evidence-based practices from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I consider myself to be authentic and passionate and that ultimately shines through my therapy sessions. I am equally as passionate about improving my clients’ lives by bringing therapeutic qualities such as empathy, compassion and humour when appropriate into my therapeutic relationships.
