If you have been a victim of a crime, our mental health services can help you navigate this challenging time, and get back to enjoying your life.
Individuals who have been victimized as a result of a crime often experience challenges in maintaining mental wellness. If you have been a victim of a crime and require mental health support, Dalton Associates can help find you a therapist who is a cultural and personal fit, and has experience supporting your unique challenges.
To review your eligibility for funding through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB), please visit www.sjto.gov.on.ca/cicb. CICB will provide you with written notice of your approved funding (CICB may approve psychological assessment, mental health treatment, or both). Dalton Associates will require the original documentation from CICB when you register.
The CICB Process
You will meet with the Registered Psychologist or Clinical Assistant who will conduct a clinical interview, observation, and administer some psychological assessment materials. With the information gathered during the assessment, the Registered Psychologist or Clinical Assistant will communicate your diagnosis to you, and advise you of their recommended treatment plan. The Registered Psychologist or Clinical Assistant will write a psychological report (per the CICB guidelines), a copy of which will be provided to you, and submit the report to CICB to request funding for the recommended treatment plan. If CICB approves the treatment, we will connect you with one of our therapists in your community to begin your treatment plan.
